Why This Blog
I've started this website/ blog as a project to share why taking photos makes me calm, relaxed and why I feel that time is endless whenever I start taking photos. It will be the virtual version of my journey as a photographer.
To sum up: one day, I hope that thanks to my photos I will be able to somehow save some endangered species like the Sumatran orangutans and the Madagascan lemurs.
Details regarding the photo featured in this post:
Where - Amsterdam;
When - beginning of March, on a late afternoon;
With - Nikon 1 V2 (50mm f/1.8G; 50mm - ISO 160; 1/1250s -f/2);
Why - I was strolling in a park, simply enjoying the birds singing, the ducks and the American Coots swimming and the amazing person whom I was with, spotted a duck. I find it better for me when I am with someone out, to take photos because it could be that the person I am with, sees something different than me and vice versa, so inspiration is doubled! In order to take this photo I hid behind a tree, because we could sense that this duck wanted to move really fast and I actually managed to take the photo just before the duck went away. I opted for the "monochrome" setting when I took it; I wanted to emphasize the surroundings and the duck's features. And now only one word comes in my mind while looking at this photo: "sneaky".
** All of the photos on this website are un-photoshopped (unless mentioned) and in general, uncropped. At most, some might be edited: transformed in monochrome or some adjustments (a little bit of exposure compensation and contrast for the monochrome ones).
