Tiny bits of us

Tiny bits of us

I strongly believe everything around me has a soul. The trees, the flowers, the statues, the buildings, the river that flows through the city, have all a soul, a spirit and you seldom pass by them without noticing their presence.

I am many times impressed by massive statues that seem to watch over us and tell stories of forgotten times.

One of the many places in Bavaria where I was surrounded by imposing statues, is Linderhof Palace.

I felt so tiny seeing the statue of Atlas, the Titan god of endurance and astronomy, holding up the sky:

There is something puzzling about statues: could it be because they are a representation of how we perceive the world around us and figures that marked the course of history, or could it be because they transmit different emotions to each of us:

to the top of the inner courtyard of the palace and looking up,

I was back again brought up to reality.
The nearby pond provided an additional surprise: we spent a couple of minutes in the company of a cute lazy swan which preferred grass from the palm of our hands, instead of relying on the grass that it could eat from the shore of the pond:
