... like footsteps in the [soft] snow

Yesterday, and the day before yesterday, and all the days before that, seem so far away... [like footsteps in the (soft) snow]

even though it hasn't been a long time since the first snow fell down... almost 8 weeks ago...

And only 7 weeks ago there was a muffled quietness all around.

It made the river barely perceptible.

In the fresh fallen snow nature's companions were trying to find their balance.

Not everyone was strong enough to support so much snow, particularly the Salixes (willows).

People and dogs of all ages ventured out

on the narrow pathways, enjoying the brand new white world of wonders.

Although it was cold, the rooks where out in the field, trying to look for nuts and seeds. A bit of a struggle in such tall and velvety snow! As soon as they sensed somebody approaching they flew away in the tiny orchard, on the right side.

As the night was getting closer, footprints

and a couple of (female) blackbirds filled that snowy Thursday afternoon.
